The program is delivered through a blended learning format, combining the convenience of online education with hands-on, practical experiences. This approach allows for flexibility while ensuring that participants receive comprehensive training. The online component offers theoretical lessons, discussions, and assessments, while the in-person sessions focus on practical, clinical skills in real-world settings. Candidates are also required to complete three mandatory visits to public sector elder care homes in Sri Lanka, providing them with invaluable, firsthand experience in caregiving.

The program consists of a total of 420 hours of instruction, which participants must complete to successfully graduate. These hours are distributed across various components to ensure a well-rounded education, combining theory, practice, and skill development. The breakdown of hours is as follows:

85 hours of theory - Participants will study the theoretical foundations of caregiving, including healthcare principles, client care ethics, and basic anatomy and physiology.

104 hours of practical training – Caregivers will engage in hands-on practical exercises designed to develop their caregiving abilities in real-life scenarios.

60 hours of basic English – To support caregivers working in diverse environments, English language skills are integrated into the program. This ensures that caregivers can communicate effectively with clients and healthcare professionals.

150 hours of clinical-based training and return demonstrations – Candidates will be trained in a clinical setting, where they will practice caregiving techniques and procedures under the supervision of experienced professionals. Return demonstrations will ensure that participants can competently perform essential tasks.

21 hours of exam preparation – The program concludes with structured preparation for the final assessment, ensuring candidates are well-equipped to succeed in their examinations.

The entire program is designed to be completed within a three-month period, offering an accelerated yet thorough pathway to certification. This fast-track structure allows participants to quickly gain the skills and qualifications they need to advance in their caregiving careers, while still receiving a comprehensive education.
